David Wimer advises privately held, family businesses that are trying to navigate through crises, ownership/management transitions, and/or organizational transformations. David’s expertise results from a 35+ year career as an entrepreneur, executive, turnaround specialist, and professional intermediary. For the last five years he has concentrated exclusively on his Business Advisory practice.
David’s entrepreneurial career began at age 23 and includes owning and operating businesses in five sectors:
- Distribution and Logistics,
- Systems Integration & Software,
- Professional Services, and
He has also managed 8 business turnarounds with companies of up to $100 million in annual revenue.
His passion for divergent thinking in confronting business problems has helped business owners, their families, and other stakeholders successfully weather uncertain and difficult circumstances. He has saved his clients millions in both asset value and cash flow.

David’s philosophy of “People First, Always” underpins how he rapidly gains insight into the emotional, financial, and personal levers for change. The author also includes a seven-step process for leading change and thirteen guiding virtues for owners and advisors.
INSIGHT prepares business owners and family stakeholders considering a transition such as the sale of the company, acquisition for growth, or getting unstuck from difficult situations. INSIGHT also includes advice for navigating complex business circumstances and suggestions to help owners avoid a business crisis before it occurs. David’s work includes engaging the key professionals that serve the business owner such as CPA’s, Attorneys, Estate Planners, Investment Bankers, Private Equity Groups, Commercial Lenders, Insurance Brokers, Wealth Managers, and Financial Planners.
David is a member of the M&A Source and is a Merger & Acquisitions Master Intermediary (M&AMI), a designation held by an elite group of M&A professionals nationwide. He is also an Associate Member of the American Bar Association (ABA) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). David is a charter member of Greater Philadelphia Senior Executives Group (GPSEG.org). He has also lectured on business topics at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, Alvernia University, Kutztown University and Lebanon Valley College.
